Classic VS Designer Series - what is the difference?

Ekodeck is proud to hang our hat on over a decade of experience, development and proven performance in the Australian climate. Over the years we have seen great developments in the technology and techniques used to create composite decking, which allows us to offer a range of products suitable for any application.

Ekodeck+ Classic in Greystone.

Our Classic range of Ekodeck has been tried and tested since 2009, over this time it has proven itself as being a dependable, durable and hard-wearing timber decking alternative. Ekodeck Classic is a traditional WPC (wood-plastic composite) which is made using a 50-50 mixture of reclaimed timber and recycled plastic. The sanded finish gives a high anti-slip rating (R11 and P5) and as the boards are the same colour and composition all the way through they are able to be worked just like timber. You can easily sand out scratches and marks or rip boards down to suit your application. If you’re after a hardwearing, repairable and cost-effective board, our Classic range of Ekodeck is hard to beat.

Our Designer Series utilises the same composite WPC core as our Classic range of decking but has the added benefit of our DurashellTM coating. This is called a co-extruded composite board, also known as a ‘capped’ or ‘wrapped’ board. Our DurashellTM coating is made from an extra-thick 100% polymer composition, making it highly stain resistant and durable. Our Designer Series also features a wide range of warm, natural timber tones and subtle variation and nuances from board to board, making for a high-end finish in any environment. If you’re after an architecturally inspired finish with an easy to clean surface, the Designer Series is our recommendation.
