When Mackay library was revamping their outdoor area, Ekodeck was the obvious choice. Forgoing the need to oil, stain, paint or seal the large deck meant the Library, and the local council were saving themselves a significant amount of time and money in making the choice to use a composite decking. Due to Mackay’s hot climate, the boards were used in modules of approx. one square meter – these short, one-meter long boards undergo significantly less expansion and contraction than longer lengths. Overall the finish is amasing and installation quick and simple. The hidden fixings also mean no nails and being a composite, no splinters to deal with – especially with all the kids and school groups the library gets through the doors!
